At the start of most years, I do a post where I look at my Yet Another Value “empire” (for example, here’s 2022’s post) and talk about my plans for the upcoming year. I didn’t do one this year because… well, I don’t know why. Maybe it was a little bit of writer’s block, maybe it was a little bit of laziness, and maybe it was a little bit of my “no navel gazing” rule.
i like the idea of you going through your blog posts on a video. is there someone who could ask you questions about them at the end? separately, please have mordechai back once, and only once, he has upgraded his mic and cam.
I listen to almost all of them, find them very interesting and am grateful for you efforts, but sometimes you talk almost as much as your guest, who's presumably the expert.
The podcasts with guys like Judd Arnold are by far of the highest value. A cliche, still, “quality over quantity” . Seasoned voices like Arnold those are the best. Thanks for all your efforts .
Your ability to identify the key investment drivers no matter how obscure the company or unfamiliar the industry is consistently very impressive. I have no idea how you do it.
Have listened to the pod for a long time and read the blog. Think the current format is perfect as is and unmatched by any other podcast. I like the deep dives with investors on single stocks, and the more frequent and more broad pods with Chris and Jeremy.
regarding the empire, longer term, you could create a channel (of some form/Slack?/unsure the best way to structure) for your subs to post ideas and collaborate (let me know if you have already done this)
I think the podcast is great and really appreciate your focus on deep-dives on single names rather than going through several situations on a more surface level. Although the episodes with Jeremy are some of my favourites. I think one topic to explore is industry deep-dives, a bit similar to what you have done within OFS and refinery but including some industry expert. The episode with Judd had some of it even if the focus was more towards one company. Overall I mainly think it comes down to the quality of the guests.
An interesting concept to explore might be high conviction trades where you/others ended up being wrong, what could/should have been the indicators, and why they were ignored
Great content, I love the standard podcast style - deep dive into a name. Also enjoy the article dump at the end of every month.
Would be cool to do a Chris style with other verticals if investing - maybe value or growth focused five quick names in a pod. Overall love it!
Super excited about the addition of Bobby! Great addition.
Just keep up the quality content.
Congrats, the empire is growing up! Looking forward to all the cool stuff you bring us in 2023 💚 🥃
